NEC Infrontia Corporation (president: Kazunori Kiuchi) has built and delivered a POS total system with the web POS solution package StorePurser, which uses the space-saving POS TWINPOS3100, as well as Handy POS terminals for concession stands and snack trolleys in Fullcast Stadium Miyagi (location: Sendai City, Miyagino Ward), home stadium of Rakuten Baseball, Inc.’s (president: Toru Shimada) Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. The new system is comprised of 27 TWINPOS3100 terminals for concession stands and 51 Handy POS terminals for snack trolleys.
Fullcast Stadium Miyagi was renewed to synchronized with the establishment of the Tohoku region’s first professional baseball team, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. Implementation of the new system was carried on to match the timing of the completion of the renewal construction. With our use of StorePurser, which combines excellent cost performance with great versatility that doesn’t require detailed customizing, and our experience as well as the expertise acquired from implementing total POS systems in other stadiums, we were able to launch the system in a very short time.
Rakuten Baseball has entered Japanese professional baseball as a newcomer, and it is working with great enthusiasm towards the top priority of producing early profits, for which it will need to produce maximal results with the minimum necessary staff, facilities, and expenses. Even if it can manage all that, Rakuten Baseball places emphasis on detailed and accurate management of sales records, where tabulations are reported daily or sales totals checked at regular intervals. This will allow utilization of accumulated accurate sales data, with a plan to carefully analyze demand trends, providing even more customer-oriented service, as well as reducing lost sales opportunities, increasing the efficiency of sales and operations, and placing the company on an even more solid growth track. In response to that kind of policy, the StorePurser adopted in the new system allows real time handling of each store’s sales tabulations from the head office, speeding up each day’s tabulation work.
In terms of operation, in order for stores in a ballpark to make good use of the limited space, in addition to the need for space-saving POS terminals, it is also essential that terminal operations be speedy and able to efficiently handle the pre-game and mid-game rushes at a 23,000 capacity stadium. StorePurser, offered with space-saving POS terminal TWINPOS3100, not only allows for efficient use of registers, but also for smooth operation with its simple touch panel controls that never keeps customers waiting.
At snack trolleys, salespeople carry a Handy POS employing a handy terminal with internal barcode scanner so that sales can be dealt with easily anywhere. After closing time, the day’s sales data can be organized by PC, and precise sales figure management, change, and other cash control functions can be performed easily.
While Rakuten Baseball plans to develop the Fullcast Stadium Miyagi even further, toward the completion of the concept of “a community based space (ballpark) that everyone can enjoy,” NEC Infrontia will continue to offer improved POS performance and more efficient operation, with ever more user-friendly solutions.
